The Florida Sheriffs Association is one of the most prestigious organizations in the nation. With well-respected and knowledgeable experts in the field of law enforcement, serving over 19 million citizens, Florida Sheriffs stand shoulder to shoulder addressing the needs of our state. Florida’s crime rate is at an all-time low – a 42 year low to be exact! Thanks to Florida’s law enforcement community, Florida is a safe state to live, raise a family, begin or expand a business, and experience a dream vacation.
As Sheriffs, we stand on the shoulders of many giants who came before us – those who had the courage to take a stand for what was right for the State of Florida. They have shown us that right is right - and wrong is never right. The Florida Sheriffs are a unified, efficient crime fighting force. The war on human trafficking and sexual predators is gaining momentum, as our multi-agency Task Forces target those who wish to do harm to our children, who are our most helpless of victims. Organized Retail Crime is a multi-million dollar problem in the State of Florida, one where the consumer pays the ultimate price. With the strength of the Sheriffs Association, we plan to fight these attacks on our community and economy.
We will support legislation that takes a tough stance on crime and:
It is our job, as Sheriffs, to make the lives of our citizens more comfortable. We must set the tone so this state can prosper, creating an atmosphere where businesses are welcome – new residents are welcome – tourists are welcome – and where crime is not.
I am honored and humbled to serve the Florida Sheriffs as their Association President, and commend all of Florida’s Sheriffs for their willingness to get involved and work as a cohesive group for the betterment of our communities. We all have a common goal: to protect and serve our communities and our employees with integrity and vigilance. When we act together toward a common goal – with a sense of urgency – there is nothing we cannot accomplish for this Great State of Florida.
