About the Program

While FSA's work supports the efforts of law enforcement, there are no law enforcement-oriented internships available.

Our internship program offers opportunities to college and university students, those working toward an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree. We currently offer internship opportunities in Marketing, Communications and Political Science related fields. Interns may be offered up to 25 hours per week for 10 to 12 weeks at FSA headquarters in Tallahassee, Florida. Along with earning course credit, interns can expect to earn $15/hr for their contribution and effort.

There are two internships being offered in Spring 2024.

Government Affairs Assistant – Under the direction of the Government Affairs Coordinator, the Government Affairs Assistant contributes to the work of the team, assisting in the reading and analysis of documents produced by the Florida legislature during their regular session, as well as summarizing legislative changes for the benefit of the sheriffs and their offices.

The intern may also be required to attend meetings of legislative session alongside the Government Affairs Coordinator.

Marketing & Communications Assistant – Under the direction of the Director of Events and Marketing and the Director of Communications, the Marketing and Communications Assistant contributes to the work of the team and achieves high quality outcomes. The Marketing and Communications Assistant performs administrative duties and tasks specific to the position.

The Marketing & Communications Assistant will assist to developing and editing digital materials for donors and business partners ahead of conference season.
