Career

Career Served with the Philadelphia Public School Police, the Fairfax County Virginia Police Department and as a deputy with the Broward County Sheriff's Office; was a first responder to the attacks of 9/11, the Washington sniper incident, the anthrax attacks and numerous demonstrations and large protests in the nation's Capital; served as a member of the Civil Disturbance Unit in Fairfax and Field Force in Broward County; staff director to Rep. Marco Rubio in the Policy and Procedures Office (responsible for domestic security, criminal justice, economic development, and transportations issues); deputy chief of staff to Speaker of the House, Marco Rubio; chief of staff, Florida Highway Patrol, assisting with the reorganization for greater efficiencies and cost savings; served as a major and supervisor of the Pasco County Sheriff's Office Joint Operations Bureau including supervising the construction of the new Aviation Unit hangar; also developed an intelligence sharing network for the Sheriff's Office; appointed Sheriff of Pasco County May 1, 2011

Honors and Affiliations

Board member, Regional Medical Center, Bayonet Point, Pasco Sheriff's Charities, Sand Soldiers of America, Boys and Girls Club of Lacoochee and Pasco Police Athletic League; serves on the Rasmussen College Advisory Council and Pasco Advisory Board for Congressman Gus Bilirakis; member, New Port Richey Rotary, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Knights of Columbus, National Sheriffs Association, Gold Shield Foundation and the National Rifle Association.
