About the course: This course is designed to provide law enforcement investigators and investigative supervisors with the information necessary to properly understand, recognize, and investigate cases involving missing and abducted children. Participants will get an overview of the planning and initial response of a missing child case, how to conduct the search and canvass, tracking strategies, and resources. Participants will hear from the family perspective of a missing and abducted child and work through case studies and scenario exercises. An overview of interview and interrogation techniques will be provided. Additional Florida specific resource information will be provided as it relates to the Clearinghouse, CARTs, sex offender registry, tracking services, and other intelligence resources.
Target audience: Investigative personnel for law enforcement and other government-related child protection agencies.
