Human Trafficking: The Realities of Modern Day Slavery

Content: This 8-Hour class is designed to educate Law Enforcement Professionals, NGOs – Social Service Providers, Victim Advocates, Child Protection Workers and Attorneys interested in learning about this horrific crime of Modern-Day Slavery. The primary focus of the course is to provide an understanding of the origins, methods of operation, and indicators of the trafficking of human beings creating big profit for the trafficker. Human Trafficking includes Forced Labor, Domestic Servitude, Adult Sex Trafficking and Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking. The course will acquaint law enforcement personnel with the importance of a victim-centered approach to the investigation and rescue of victims and the importance of a collaborative approach with NGO – Service Providers to ensure a successful prosecution. Certified Law Enforcement Trainer and Human Trafficking Educator, Thomas Gillan will utilize PowerPoint and video resources to enhance the learning experience and handout materials will be provided.
