Content: The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) of 2003 was signed into to Federal Law by President George W. Bush. On May 17, 2012, Attorney General Eric Holder signed the PREA Standards and President Obama announced the new law the same day. When sexual abuse allegations occurs in confinement settings an Administrative and Criminal Investigation is initiated by the agency.

Who should attend: Agency Investigators (Corrections & Law Enforcement staff) who has the responsibility of investigating sexual abuse allegations in confinement settings, both administrative and criminal functions? In addition, any other agency designated staff that is responsible for preventing, detecting and responding to sexual abuse allegations in confinement settings,

Class size: Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis. The class is limited to 35 participants; cutoff date for enrollment is October 1, 2013.
