Course Description: Patrol Officers will increase their ability to treat, protect and defend themselves and others in and around their patrol vehicle. This class will be taught by Mike Pannone and Kyle Raisbeck. Both were special operations soldiers from SMU’s (special mission units) within the US Army and have extensive real world experience operating in and around vehicles on active operations in a combat environment. The medical portion will be taught by a Special Forces medic/paramedic/EMT Kyle Raisbeck. The course will address the realities of responding to shots fired and officer down in an unsecured environment.
This course will prepare you as an officer either by yourself or responding to a call to be able to protect yourself and others and stabilize/treat your own or other injuries until the scene is secure and medical personnel arrive. The 3 days will focus on actions in and around the patrol vehicle:
Notes: Scenarios will be used for skills refinement and validation. There will also be a night portion the evenings of 6/18 and 6/19.
Required equipment: Students should bring Duty gear/vest, pistol with at least 3 magazines (600 rounds), car-bine (already zeroed) with at least 3 magazines (600 rounds), rifle sling, at least one mag pouch for the rifle mags, hearing and eye protection. MED SUPPLLIES: IFAK kit with tour-niquet, hemostatic agent, 14 ga. Needle, Asherman chest seal, compression bandage, other med supplies..
PREREQUISITE: This is an advanced course. You must be an experienced rifle/pistol shooter. NO EXCEPTIONS.
