Course Content: CIT Advanced Refresher Training will cover a review of the Baker Act and Marchman Act, Suicide Prevention and Intervention and a review of effective De-escalation strategies which are critical knowledge competencies and skill sets for CIT deputies/officers who respond to people with mental illnesses in crisis. The training will cover additional information for CIT trained deputies/officers to manage their own well-being during and after stressful crisis situations that involve people with mental illnesses.
