The Florida Sheriffs Association partners with agencies and subject matter experts to help sheriffs’ offices save resources by coordinating competitive procurements and offering discount purchasing programs. These efforts help save Florida taxpayers millions of dollars. FSA’s highly successful Cooperative Purchasing Program provides sheriffs’ offices and other government agencies with significant buying power and savings on fleet and heavy equipment. This includes pursuit vehicles, fire trucks, tires, electric vehicle charging stations and more. With FSA performing these procurements, this program is a direct benefit to local taxpayers by offering this cost saving service to Florida’s governments.
FSA is expanding the Cooperative Purchasing Program by partnering with host agencies. New contracts offered continue to serve sheriffs’ needs while creating a network of purchasers to increase the buying power of these contracts. New contracts include radio and communications equipment, vehicle upfitting, and fuel.
FSA’s Deferred Compensation Program is operated by a trusted partner Nationwide Retirement Solutions, who was selected by competitive bid. This program offers sheriffs’ office personnel an additional retirement savings option by providing a range of high quality investment opportunities and, reliable customer service with competitive fees.
In addition, FSA is the coordinator for the federal government’s 1122 program, allowing sheriffs’ offices and other agencies to receive significant discounts on equipment and supplies for homeland security, emergency management and counter drug activities.
Inspired Technologies is the Endorsed Provider of the FSA’s Managed IT Services program. This group provides ongoing IT support to sheriffs throughout the state and are a key provider for FSA.
FSA partners with Prime Corrections to offer sheriffs the ability to reduce offsite inmate medical bills. Often when an inmate has to receive treatment outside the facility, health care costs skyrocket. This program was created to reduce these costs by scrubbing bills, negotiating savings, and using a nationwide network of providers.
