Corrections Officer of the Year

About

The Florida Sheriffs Association’s Corrections Officer of the Year Award is given annually to a Florida corrections officer who has demonstrated exemplary service in the line of duty. The recipient of the award receives recognition at the Florida Sheriffs Association’s annual conference, a plaque and $2,000.

2018 Corrections Officer of the Year

Brevard County Deputy Carissa LaRoche receives her 2018 FSA Corrections Officer of the Year award from FSA President and Walton County Sheriff Mike Adkinson, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey and Allen Durham, representing award sponsor Star & Shield Insurance Services.

Brevard County Corrections Deputy Carissa LaRoche was selected as the 2018 Corrections Officer of the Year. LaRoche has demonstrated her determination to go above and beyond by saving numerous lives while working in the Brevard County Correction Facility, including the life of an inmate appearing to have a seizure in July 2017. Read more.
