Dispatcher of the Year


The Florida Sheriffs Association’s Dispatcher of the Year Award is given annually to a Florida communications officer who has demonstrated exemplary service in the line of duty. The recipient of the award receives recognition at the Florida Sheriffs Association’s annual conference, a plaque and $2,000.

Deputy Andress Receives his award

Communications Supervisor Jefferson Andress of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office was selected as the 2019 Dispatcher of the Year. Andress has exemplified leadership, diligence and heroic qualities in the workplace during his nine-year tenure with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. He was once again recognized for his fortitude as the primary dispatcher during a manhunt for a murder suspect in May 2018. Read more.
