Dennard Selected As FSA Jail Services Coordinator

Tallahassee, Fla. (May 5, 2011) – The Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA), one of the largest state law enforcement associations in the nation and the oldest law enforcement association in Florida, is pleased to announce today that Isaiah Dennard has been selected to fill the Jail Services Coordinator position at FSA.

The Jail Services Coordinator provides technical, operational and support services to Sheriffs and Jail Administrators. This position is responsible for serving as a contact for corrections and jail operations issues; developing, reviewing and researching policies and procedures for corrections and jail operations; providing consultation on legislative issues; planning and coordinating jail conferences and training programs; and performing jail inspections and audits of operations. The Jail Services Coordinator provides consultation concerning the certification process and the Florida Model Jail Standards.

Isaiah Dennard joins the FSA staff from Orange County Corrections, Board of Orange County Commission. In 2009, Lt. Dennard was awarded Assessor of the Year and the Distinguished Service Award by the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission (FCAC). After retiring with over 25 years of service, Dennard assisted the FCAC with assessments of various correctional facilities. He served as team leader on five separate assessments for the FCAC, where his extraordinary support and superb leadership led to much success for each facility. It is these traits among many others that will make Isaiah Dennard successful at FSA and strengthen the association as a whole.
